Location: Pine Brook, NJ
Renovations: Siding, Windows, & Door Replacement
This home in Pine Brook was showing the typical signs of exterior aging. The homeowners were tired of repainting every few years, several windows were drafty, and the front door needed replacement. They wanted durable, low-maintenance materials that would eliminate upkeep and improve comfort throughout the home. K&B Home Remodelers was the obvious choice to achieve these goals, our 15 years of experience helping hundreds of homeowners throughout Northern New Jersey gave these homeowners the reassurance they needed.
Designing the Perfect Update with 3D CAD Technology
During the consultation, our team used advanced 3D CAD design software to help the homeowners visualize their options before work began. We collaborated closely to develop a design concept and budget that fit both their goals and the home’s architecture. By seeing the design in real-time, the homeowners could confidently choose colors, finishes, and materials that would bring their vision to life.

Why the Homeowners Chose K&B Home Remodelers
The homeowners appreciated our transparent process and design-driven approach. They valued that we provided clear communication, realistic pricing, and high-quality renderings rather than estimates based on guesswork.

Addressing Structural and Insulation Challenges
While completing the installation, our crew uncovered several serious issues from the original construction. The rim plate on the right wall had not been fastened correctly, causing the wall to shift and creating a risk of collapse. We opened the wall, realigned the rim plate, and properly secured it to stabilize the structure.
We also discovered that the porch overhang was missing a header, which caused the rafters to sag. To correct it, we jacked up the porch, leveled it, and installed a new header finished with composite Azek trim. Additionally, the homeowner had concerns about insulation, so we removed sections of the wall to inspect and found poorly insulated areas. We added insulation and new plywood to ensure the home was energy efficient and structurally sound.
These findings were highly unusual and pointed to serious issues left by a negligent builder. Correcting them prevented future damage and gave the homeowners peace of mind.
A Safe and Efficient Home Transformation
The homeowners were aware their home had some existing issues, but our project lead, Horacio, took time to explain each problem clearly and outline the solutions step-by-step. This transparency set their minds at ease and ensured they understood every part of the repair process.
By the project’s end, the home had a completely renewed exterior—safe, efficient, and beautiful. The new siding, windows, and door provided lasting durability and the updated look the homeowners envisioned.
